2025 Banff Hybrid Conference
We are thrilled to announce that the next Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT) conference will be held in beautiful Banff, Alberta, from May 1-3, 2025!
Our theme this year is "Navigating Rocky Relationships."
We are working on an exciting line-up of speakers. Expect to hear insightful talks on topics ranging from improving your relationship with food (for non-eating disorder therapists) to building a healthier relationship with yourself and managing other tricky relationship dynamics.
Stay tuned for more details, including registration dates, as we get closer to the event!
We are also excited to introduce a new "Open Paper" format at this year’s conference. If you are planning on presenting a poster, you now have the opportunity to have your work considered for an open paper presentation. This new format will allow you to present a 10 minute talk on your research or clinical insights to your peers. It’s a fantastic chance to engage with your colleagues in a more dynamic way.
Additionally, we will be moving the Annual General Meeting (AGM) back to the conference this year. This shift gives all members the opportunity to participate fully in shaping the future of CACBT and the promotion of evidence-based interventions across Canada. For those interested, there will be opportunities to apply for open board positions. If an election is needed, we will hold the vote and announce the new board members at the AGM on the final day of the conference.
As always, we aim to make your conference experience as smooth as possible. We will be sharing information about airport transfers from Calgary and tips on accessing the ski hills nearby. If we’re lucky, there may still be some spring skiing at Sunshine Village in early May!
Though I now live in Vancouver, I grew up in Calgary and spent a lot of time in Banff. I am eager to share this stunning part of Canada with all of you. Banff is a picturesque backdrop for learning more about CBT, while also giving you the chance to connect with colleagues from across the country. We can’t wait to see you there!
Sincerely,
Christine Korol, Ph.D., R.Psych.
