Membership Categories

Full Members are licensed or registered with a regulated health profession. As a Full Member, you will enjoy numerous benefits, including voting rights (e.g. at the Annual General Meeting) and eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors or Committees. Full Member’s include all active members (non-student) who have paid the current yearly membership fee. Full Members also includes: Certified, Fellows, Founding, Indigenous Members*.
* For Full Members who identify as Indigenous, membership is free of charge. This is part of CACBT's commitment to help improve the availability of and access to cognitive-behavioural interventions that have been culturally adapted for Indigenous peoples.

Student Membership is open to individuals enrolled in a post-secondary program of study related to mental health (e.g., counselling, medicine, nursing, psychiatry, psychology, social work, occupational therapy) as well as recent graduates actively pursuing graduate-level training in a related discipline (e.g., during a gap year).
For Student Members who identify as Indigenous, membership is free of charge. This is part of CACBT's commitment to help improve the availability of and access to cognitive-behavioural interventions that have been culturally adapted for Indigenous peoples.

For members who are retiring but want to remain connected to CACBT, we offer the free "Retired Affiliates" option. If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to become a Retired Affiliate with CACBT:
You are no longer practicing
You have been a CACBT member for at least 5 of the last 10 years
AND at least ONE of the following: Currently a Certified Member, a Past Board Member or a Fellow
Retired Affiliates will continue to have access to the listserve. While there is no fee to become a Retired Affiliate, individuals will be required to renew their membership annually to keep our records current.
Membership Year
The CACBT membership year runs from January 1 to December 31, of each year, regardless of whether those dates fall on weekends or holidays. Renewals must be completed by December 31, 11:59 pm ET, to avoid late/administrative fees.
Membership Categories and Rates
The Association requires members to pay annual fees to maintain active membership status. This status is required to retain certification, fellow designation, and/or founding membership. The fees for both new memberships and renewals are the same. All membership fees are non-refundable.
Full Membership (includes Certified, Fellow, and Founding): $125.00 plus tax
Student Membership: $60 plus tax
Retired Affiliate and Indigenous (Full or Student): Free
Late/Administration Fees for Renewing Members
If renewal is not completed by December 31, the following fees apply from January 1:
Full Membership: $25 late/administrative fee plus tax (in addition to the full membership fee)
Student Membership: $12.50 late/administrative fee plus tax (in addition to the student membership fee)

New members are welcome to join at any time. Our membership period runs from January 1 to December 31. Members have the option to set their account to auto-renew or log in to the Member Portal each year to renew manually. A reminder message will appear in the Member Portal starting in November.

Membership renewal is required by December 31, 11:59 PM ET to avoid late or administrative fees and prevent the loss of your CACBT status (e.g., Certification, Fellow, Founding). Members can choose to set their account to auto-renew or log in to the Member Portal each year to renew manually. A reminder message will appear in the Member Portal starting in November.
Certified Members:
To maintain certification status, renew by December 31, 11:59 pm ET. Missing this deadline will incur a late or administrative fee, and Certified Members will have until March 1 at 11:59 pm ET to complete payment (a grace period). Certified Members will have until March 1, 11:59 PM ET to complete payment (a grace period). After this date, certification will be lost, and members will need to reapply and undergo the certification process again to regain their CACBT-certified status.
Founding Members:
Members who registered by December 31, 2010, are recognized as "Founding Members" of CACBT-ACTCC. To maintain Founding Member status, renewals must be completed by December 31 at 11:59 pm ET each year. Failure to do so will result in the loss of Founding Member status.
Retired Members:
We offer the "Retired Affiliates" option to members who are retiring but want to remain connected to CACBT. You must meet the criteria and renew each year. There is no cost to renew, but you must still meet the requirements.

Membership Drive
The membership drive is an annual initiative that aims to encourage new memberships and renewals within the Association. During this period, members have the opportunity to maintain access to the Association’s benefits and retain their designated status (e.g., Certified, Fellow, Founding).
