CACBT-ACTCC hosted the 3rd Annual Conference, which took place at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec on May 23-25, 2013.

This conference was full of clinical and research content from students and experts alike, with workshops, skills sessions and keynotes by renowned local, national and international CBT clinicians and researchers. Much of the invited content of the conference was generated based on the feedback of our membership in 2011.

It was comprised of 7 workshops, 3 symposia, 3 skills sessions, 3 panel discussions, 4 key note lectures, the Annual General Meeting, as well as social events. We also had 7 presentations that were simultaneously interpreted in French and 4 that were given in French. Some of the speakers and sessions were led by: Frederick Aardema, Kieron O’Connor, Julie Leclerc, Philip Kendall, Naomi Koerner, Mark van der Gaag, Martin D. Provencher, Michel Dugas, Gail Myhr, Jason Morrison, Stéphane Bouchard, Heather Hadjistravropoulos, Mark Freeston, Frèdérick Dionne, Marie-Claude Blais, Sanjay Rao, Debbie Sookman, Deborah Dobson, and Nina Josefowitz.

This was the first CACBT conference that was accredited by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (3-4 hours per workshop), in addition to the Canadian Psychological Association (3.5 - 4 credits per workshop) and the Canadian Psychiatric Association (total of 11.5 Section 1 MOCOMP credits).

The creation of CACBT-ACTCC Board of Directors Student Representative Position was introduced and it was explained that this role represented the opinions and interests of the student membership..

The 2013 CACBT-ACTCC Conference was a remarkable success and was thoroughly appreciated by members who attended. CACBT-ACTCC thanks the presenters who put in time to prepare excellent workshops, panel discussions, and addresses. Thanks also goes out to the CACBT-ACTCC Board who spearheaded and supported this project, to the conference organizing committee, to fpi Events, to the volunteers who ensured a smooth running of the conference, to all the CACBT-ACTCC members who attended this conference and to those who took the time to share such valuable feedback.
